Friendly money words often leave something out.
Words like safe, free, only and guaranteed sound reassuring. Each one usually skips a detail: for how long, compared with what, or on what condition. I built the book around one habit: notice what’s missing, then ask about it.

An offer says your payment is guaranteed. The next sentence only promises to refund a $15 fee if the payment is late.
“Your payment is guaranteed.”
“This paragraph covers the fifteen-dollar fee. Where does it guarantee the payment?”
Why it works. The small print promises the $15 fee back, not the payment. One calm question shows the difference.

Falling from $100 to $80 is a 20% drop. Getting back to $100 takes a 25% rise, because it starts from $80.

A “$0 fee” offer in the book adds a $12 setup charge and a $6 monthly fee later on: $66 over twelve months.

If they say “processed”, don’t say back “available”. Using their word lets them correct you on the point that matters.
